You’re the Hypertanks, a team of war machines imprinted with copies of human minds, and heroes of the Human Arachnoid War.

You are part of a parade celebrating the War’s end. Everything is going well, until ominous shapes form in the sky…

Tonally, this will be like an early 90s arcade shooter meets action-adventure cartoon.

Is it a Plane!? is a published RPG that replaces dice rolls with rapid doodles in limited time! Whenever you do something that would normally require getting some dice out, you instead must doodle what you are attempting to do. Nobody has the time for artistic skill, so stick figures are all you need. And although you cannot tell the Editor (GM) exactly what you’ve drawn, you can point out any stats you are using from your character sheet, and indicate any elements of a scene that have already been described as clues to help them interpret your panels.

Star Wars - Mission to Tatooine David Keys (Dicey Dave), 5 players, Apocalypse World / Powered by the Apocalypse

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away….

It is ten years since Episode VI and the death of the Emperor.  The galaxy has fragmented, with the New Republic battling Imperial remnants, crime syndicates and others, each vying for control.

Your characters have been employed by a mysterious patron.  They must journey to Mos Eisley, on the desert planet of Tatooine, to find a missing scientist, believed to have been abducted by Shabba the Hutt, who rules the town.

A choice of characters will be provided, including force users, warriors, scoundrels and experts.  The characters can be customised a little, with options to make them aliens or droids.

This is a cinematic game that uses a simple 2d6 system.  During the game, players may narrate their rolled successes, partial successes and failures, embellishing the results and the story with their own ideas.

There will be some Star Wars Lego to provide inspiration.

Bequeathed David Plank, 5 players, 13 Omens

13 Omens is a rules-light modern day horror RPG with mature themes, perfect for veteran and beginner players. It was a rough flight into wine country, battered by turbulence. The tiny airport meant little time was wasted collecting your bags, but the bleak winter weather did little to lift the mood. You’re heading to the parking lot, where a private shuttle awaits to take you home to Salazar Cellars, where you and your siblings have been summoned to hear your father’s will.

He died three days ago from a stroke. Though he was getting on in years, the shock of his death still hasn’t fully registered. His final wishes were explicit: you must be present at the will reading tonight, or forfeit any claim to your inheritance.

Outside, a bitter wind cuts through you as reports of floodwaters closing nearby roads add to your unease. As you board the shuttle, you wonder how many old sibling rivalries have truly faded—and how many are still waiting for you at Salazar Cellars.  Trigger warnings for alcohol use, drug use, gore, memory loss, mental illness, and self-inflicted injury

Swarmed Jon Jowett, 6 players, Era: Kaiju

In a world of giant monsters (“kaiju”), a tentative unwritten truce has emerged between some of these kaiju and humanity as a whole. The largest kaiju (“alphas”) are so massive and powerful that they cannot be harmed by any normal human weaponry, so they tend to run rampant. This has created a niche for the smaller kaiju (“betas”) – their existence is tolerated by humanity, in exchange for their help in protecting humanity’s cities. However, since kaiju can only communicate through their actions, trust is slow to earn and easily lost.

The great city of Milton Keynes has erected a titanic perimeter wall for protection against ordinary external threats. Recently, they have been subject to wave after wave of attacks by small monsters. These are easily handled, but the local city-protecting kaiju are starting to become restive after several days on high alert.

You will play as this group of city-protecting kaiju. Use your immense powers to defeat the threat facing the city, so that you can finally take a break!

This session is suitable for both beginners and veterans of the system!

Create your own personal kaiju at the start of the session

Pathfinder 2e Beginner Box Lucy McChessney, 6 players, Pathfinder 2E

The small seaside town of Otari is known for its fresh fish and skilled sailors, but above all, it’s a big logging town, providing valuable wood to the nearby metropolis of Absalom. But for you, Otari is home. You grew up playing on the docks, getting lost in the nearby woods, and hearing the fantastical stories of travelers from faraway lands, tales of terrifying dragons and virtuous knights. Such adventure always seemed so distant—until today!

Word has begun to spread around Otari that there’s a problem down at the Otari Fishery. Some are saying that some sort of beast is lurking in the basement, feeding on the stores of salted fish. Folks are worried that whatever is eating the fish might get hungry enough to eat the fishers next!

You’ve received a letter from Tamily Tanderveil, the owner of the Fishery. Inside is a desperate plea for help. With the town guard busy protecting the loggers, she needs a few brave souls to venture down into the basement of her warehouse and put an end to the beast that’s feasting on her fish! Do you have the courage to face the menace under Otari?

What Lies Beneath Lukasz Furmaniak, 6 players, Era: The Chosen

Harbour City – a place of opportunity and wealth. A place where one can make their dreams come true. But wherever there are dreams, there are sure to be nightmares.

Being an investigator in such a place is never easy, though hardly dull. Beyond the glitz and glamour, scandals and mysteries abound. And recently one has come to dominate the headlines – a plague of vanishings, people whisked away without rhyme or reason, with nothing in common. With local law enforcement baffled, many have taken to protecting themselves anyway they can.

Such strange occurrences are nothing new to Harbour City, but never on this scale. Never so indiscriminate. Maybe you’re tired of keeping your head down. Maybe you don’t like being told not to stick your nose where it doesn’t belong. Hell, maybe you just need the money.

Either way, trouble’s knocking on your door.

This session is suitable for both beginners and veterans of the system!

Pre-generated characters will be provided.

Dad's Dragons Marcus Rowland, 6 players, Forgotten Futures

1941 – Britain stands almost alone, and everyone must do their bit for the war effort, king, and country. In a small town in Wales “everyone” includes a hidden family of dragons, and possibly other supernatural creatures. Will they be able to help while continuing to hide their secret?

This is an early play-test of a setting I’m developing for publication, and all participants are encouraged to make suggestions and point out errors etc. Welsh accents optional…

Cult of the Minotaur Mark Chappel, 6 players, Shadowdark

Cultists have attacked the great god Gede’s most sacred temple! Right now they are preparing a dangerous and destructive ritual to cast them down and replace them with devilry unknown… Dare you stop this evil summoning? Can you avoid the hellfire traps? Will you reclaim those holy weapons and relics for good and perhaps your own fame and glory?

Shadowdark is a dungeon crawler where time and light are your most important resources. Torches are on real-time timers and there are many things lurking in the shadows which will attack your light to leave you defenceless. It’s a quick, simple system where fights are fast and unfair, casting magic comes with great risk and where experience points are gained by the quality of your loot, not your kills.

Starfinder Society Scenario #2-04: A Watery Grave Martin Sharp, 6 players, Starfinder Society 2E

A Starfinder Society Scenario designed for 3rd- through 4th-level characters, playable in 2-3 hours.

Long ago, a society called the Acsie empire ruled many of the worlds in the region known to the Pact World’s as Kazmurg’s Absurdity, or simply “the Absurdity” by explorers and residents alike. This part of space is notoriously difficult to find and navigate because it’s quite literally broken by magic. Getting around requires knowing where you’re going or possessing a physical or virtual map of the place. Recently the Starfinder Society acquired a map of a solitary world in the Absurdity called Oamnil. Initial surveys of this gas giant have already been completed, with the Starfinders discovering numerous moons orbiting the world, all riddled with Acsie ruins.

The Starfinder Society partnered with esteemed local explorer, Greffgo, to scout the ruins on one of these moons. Unfortunately, Greffgo never reported back in. Driven by the worries of an eccentric diviner, a team of Starfinders follow the flight path and exploration route of this lost Starfinder, with the goal of finding him or at least uncovering evidence of his fate.

The Demon of Dogwater Gulch Mattheus Sookoo, 5 players, Lancer (d20 and d6)

Set 15,000 years in the future. Humanity has survived near collapse. People now live in a galaxy managed by “UNION”—a massive, utopian society that spans countless worlds. Union is mostly peaceful. You are a “Lancer”—an elite, highly skilled mech pilot. Your team venture to an outer planet to hunt down a creature terrorizing the local area before a rival group of bounty hunters does!

Mechanics: Rules-light narrative play with gritty tactical combat. D20 and D6s

Themes: Roleplaying, big mech battles (think, Gundam, Evangelion, Gurren Lagann, Pacific Rim – no need to have watched these!) Trigger warnings: Serpent-like creatures

I will teach the rules and provide pregens so no prior experience needed.

Starfleet Academy: The Shattered Frontier Suresh Ravendran, 5 players, Star Trek adventures 2e (abridged)

It is 3191, and the hum of the atmospheric processors feels like a countdown. You and your fellow cadets are the first generation to train in an era of true rebuilding. You’ve memorised the blueprints of the Merian class starship, debated the ethics of the Prime Directive in a post-Burn world, and survived the frostbite simulations of the Andorian highlands.

Before you, the massive arch of the holodeck pulses with a soft blue light—a gateway to your final evaluation.

Stafleet has issued a rare directive, bypassing the usual individual placements. This isn’t just a graduation exercise; it’s a desperate talent scout. The Federation’s influence was expanding, but the fleet stretched to its breaking point across the frontier.

The archway flickers and out walk the cadets from the war college, celebrating their success. As the archway flickers and resets, it’s time to see if you and your crew will be fast-tracked to a commission or relegated to drydock duty.

We will be using trimmed Star Trek Adventures 2e rules and pre-gen character sheets. Dice and stationery provided. Beginners to the Star Trek universe and cosplay are warmly welcome around the table!

Why not marvel at the feat of engineering that is the Great Chain with links the size of a mans arm which spans the Golden Horn and can be raised to prevent ships entering the city’s harbours. Take in the Theban Obelisk and the colossus- an 18 metre high statue of Constantine who’s nose is said to be 9 inches long!

Or if its adventure you’re after, and you’re a carnifex, why not hunt some monsters whilst you’re there! The city is said to teem with ghouls, sirens, vampires, lemures and undying corpses. Stab them with your spatha, blow them up with Greek fire or blast them with magical lighting; the choice is yours. For you are a carnifex: the emperor’s chosen warriors in the fight against the monsters who lurk in the cracks of society. (Unacknowledged of course, the empire denies the very existence of monsters and by extension monster hunters, so don’t go shouting about what you do).

Shadows of the Abyss Victoria Phillips, 5 players, D&D 5e

As fate would have it, your venture yielded dividends almost immediately, for a lucrative opportunity soon presented itself. The Merchants Guild extends a handsome sum of 4000 gold pieces to probe the curious anomalies that have precipitated the mysterious vanishing of several vessels.
